Close your eyes for a moment and imagine the flavour of creamy macadamia nuts panned in rose-flavoured couverture chocolate then dusted with the finest cocoa powder. Mmmmm, 'exquisite' is the word that best describes Rose Obsessions from Duck Creek Macadamias. Duck Creek Macadamias is a macadamia grower and artisan producer of premium macadamia products. Grown in the pristine Byron Bay hinterland, Duck Creek products are crafted from natural ingredients and hand-packed with care on the Duck Creek plantation located in historic Newrybar, NSW. The inspiration for the Duck Creek name and label may have you wondering what ducks have to do with macadamia nuts. The story goes that the little brown duck, native to the Northern Rivers of NSW, once mistook its green eggs to be macadamia nuts! After several weeks of the little brown duck brooding, the hard macadamia seed matured and the husk split open to the very big surprise of the little brown duck. A cute tale methinks, however I'm advised that the brand name comes from the original name given to the area where the first macadamia farm began. Macadamias are native to the Northern Rivers Region of Australia and are considered the world’s finest nut, combining a buttery texture, sweet flavour and great crunch. The award-winning Duck Creek range includes premium roasted macadamias coated with couverture chocolate, roasted with pure honey and flavoured with savoury spices. One of Duck Creek's best sellers is the Obsessions range, which features premium roasted macadamias panned in naturally-flavoured couverture dark chocolate and dusted in Belgium cocoa powder. There are five 100% natural flavours in the Obsessions range – Rose, Orange, Mint, Mocha and Ginger. Yum! The perfect gift for Mother's Day! Duck Creek’s products are the ultimate combination of indulgence and health. Macadamia nuts are cholesterol-free and the richest source of monounsaturated fats of any natural commercial food. An excellent source of protein, calcium, potassium, dietary fibre and antioxidants, Duck Creek macadamias are the definitive, guilt-free indulgence. These nuts sound amazing. I didn't get to spend much time with my grandmother because she died when I was quite young but what I do remember is her coming into the kitchen in the morning, lifting her dressing gown and stabbing herself in the thigh with her daily insulin injection - I was fascinated! xx

I do love a brand with a story and that one is quite adorable. Too bad about the limitations, macadamia's are outrageously expensive here so this would be a real treat. 30/4/2014 01:31:55 pm
Never knew my grandmother + Mum died long ago but the rose gold wedding ring we each wore in turn reminds me of them daily :) 30/4/2014 01:33:56 am
I remember my mother would start sewing my Easter outfit at the end of February to make sure it was all done in time and then we'd have to hunt for a hat, gloves and new shoes. It was important to her that all three kids look just right for Easter Sunday. I always wanted to sleep with my new shoes on. :)

My favourite memory of my Mum is when we were moving from our life on a farm due to my Pop's death.... I was devastate & climbed on the roof of the farm-house to escape.... Mum climbed up there after me & we laid on the hot tin roof talking for hours about my Pop & our life & how things change.
