Recipe to Riches takes much loved recipes from everyday Aussies and (hopefully) turns them into top-selling products on the shelves of Woolworths, one of the two major Australian supermarkets. The series gives viewers insight into a recipe's journey from the creator's kitchen to the branding, product launch and supermarket shelves. Hosted by three 'experts': Carolyn Cresswell from Carman's Fine Foods, advertising guru David Nobay and chef Darren Robertson, who (together with Woolworths GM Lizzy Ryley) coach the contestants through a food battle. to see if their product can succeed on a supermarket shelf. Adam Liaw, winner of MasterChef series two, returns to our screens as host of the SBS series, Destination Flavour Japan. Having lived and worked in Japan for seven years, Liaw is the perfect presenter for this beautifully shot program that features the country that first fired his passion for food. Viewers have the opportunity to have a masterclass with culinary legend, Madhur Jaffrey, who returns to television for the first time in 17 years with a new series that sees her explore the British love affair with Indian cuisine. This 10-part series sees Ms Jaffrey travel around the UK, from London to Birmingham and Glasgow to Leicester, creating her very own food map and seeing first-hand how Indian food has been integrated into the British national way of life and why it's constantly voted as one of the nation's favourite foods. Madhur Jaffrey's Curry Nation kicks off on SBS on 22 August at 7.30pm.
In series one and two of Kitchen Cabinet, ABC political commentator Annabel Crabb, invaded the kitchens of Australian politicians in search of food and light psychoanalysis. This election year, she’s back for more, in a new prime-time home on ABC1. Each week Ms Crabb invites herself over to the home of a sitting Federal politician, offering dessert in exchange for a chat and dinner. Series three features Craig Emerson and Nick Xenophon, among others. Kitchen Cabinet screens on ABC 1 on Tuesday evenings at 8.00pm. It's interesting and delicious. Definitely worth viewing.
