With a collage featuring violet and lemon eclairs, croquembouche, candy-striped meringues, and rose-topped raspberry and white chocolate muffins, Love, Aimee x will appeal to those who love to bake, those who love to create pretty things, and those with a sweet tooth.
Aimee Twigger is a 28-year-old crafter and blogger, who lives in Torquay, Devon, with her partner, Howard, and a Dalmatian puppy. Aimee started her food blog, Twigg Studios, in 2011 to share recipes and her passion for baking and food photography. She does both very well, methinks. Aimee's blog is every bit as gorgeous as her book.
The chapters are divided between Cupcakes, Teatime treats, Cookies and confectionery, and Party treats. The recipes are presently simply and are easy to follow. Step-by-step photos help with some of the more complex processes.
Standout recipes which caught my eye include little honey cakes with figs, pistachios and mascarpone; orange, rosewater and saffron scones; syrup-soaked Turkish shortbread; and a peach and blueberry frozen yoghurt cake.
