Petite Kitchen has long been one of my favourite blogs. The photography is stunning, the writing engaging, and the recipes a treat - particularly for those who love simple, natural, nourishing food.
My Family Table is the second book from Eleanor Ozich, the writer, stylist, photographer and cook behind the Petite Kitchen blog. In this latest book, Eleanor celebrates wholesome food in all its glory and presents a feast of recipes for breakfasts, dinners, snacks and desserts.
Among the wholesome breakfasts that caught my eye are rustic sesame honey bread; soft-boiled eggs with poppy seed parmesan toasts; banana oat hotcakes; delicate chamomile muffins; and the perfect green smoothie.
School lunches and snacks feature meals such as potato and rosemary foccacias with roasted cherry tomatoes; crispy almond-coated chicken nuggets with home-made tomato sauce; coconut cream and apricot bumper bars; and brown butter cinnamon blondies. Yum!
There are recipes for chickpea flour pizzas; petite potato salad with cucumber and lemony creme fraiche; fig and dates filled with salted almond butter; rustic walnut and raisin tea bread; and a spectacular crepe birthday cake with lemon mascarpone and rosemary.
And among the sweet treats are a blackcurrant clafoutis with cinnamon cream; real proper custard; and a vegan dandelion torte with a dark chocolate ganache.
