Croydon-born cook and food writer Rachel Khoo demonstrates her imaginative flair for the cuisine in two new series on SBS – Rachel Khoo’s Kitchen Notebook Cosmopolitan Cook and Rachel Khoo’s Kitchen Notebook – London.
In the first series Kitchen Notebook – Cosmopolitan Cook Rachel is off on her travels and just a short plane hop from her London home Rachel uncovers a world of culinary inspiration. Immersing herself in different cultures and cuisines she records the special things she finds in her notebook and uses these gems of inspiration back in her London kitchen - cooking up a host of delicious new dishes for friends. Take a journey with Rachel as she explores exotic locations of Istanbul, Princes’ Island, Stockholm, Swedish Archipelago, Barcelona, Costa Brava, Nice, Provence, Naples and the stunning Amalfi Coast. Rachel’s second delightful series on SBS in 2015 is Kitchen Notebook – London which finds the acclaimed cook and food writer living back in the city where she was born and bred, getting re-acquainted with one of the world's most exciting capitals and its fantastic food. Shane Delia’s Spice Journey Turkey and Adam Liaw’s Destination Flavour Down Under, will premiere on 31 July to heat up the winter season of mouth-watering Thursday night food offerings only on SBS ONE. On his latest overseas adventure, Luke Nguyen's France, which begins on Thursday, 24 April at 7:30pm on SBS ONE, celebrated chef Luke Nguyen ventures out of Asia and into France — the culinary wonderland that shaped both his ancestral home, Vietnam, and the lives of so many in his family. Viewers experience a whole new world of French Vietnamese fusion food, as Luke travels across France creating dishes that boast the richness of Gallic tradition with a fresh, modern Asian twist. Adam Liaw, winner of MasterChef series two, returns to our screens as host of the SBS series, Destination Flavour Japan. Having lived and worked in Japan for seven years, Liaw is the perfect presenter for this beautifully shot program that features the country that first fired his passion for food. From the frozen ponds of Hokkaido in the north to the southern multicultural island of Okinawa, viewers follow Liaw's one-on-one encounters with the obsessive primary producers, local food legends and master chefs; peppered with recipes that are achievable for the home cook. Viewers have the opportunity to have a masterclass with culinary legend, Madhur Jaffrey, who returns to television for the first time in 17 years with a new series that sees her explore the British love affair with Indian cuisine. This 10-part series sees Ms Jaffrey travel around the UK, from London to Birmingham and Glasgow to Leicester, creating her very own food map and seeing first-hand how Indian food has been integrated into the British national way of life and why it's constantly voted as one of the nation's favourite foods.
