Chive flowers Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
Heavens above, it has happened again. I swear, the last time I paused long enough to stare intently at my calendar, it was April. Now it's November. What the hey happened to the rest of the year?

Realistically, I suppose I have been busy travelling more than a little...  and finalising my book, which is to be printed, bound and published this week. Wooooo hooooo! To say that I'm excited would be an understatement. It has been a hugely enjoyable project and I have learned so much over the past year of writing. Thank you so much to those who have already pre-ordered a copy (or copies). I am truly humbled by your kind words and support. ♥

Let's now take a peek at what's happening in my kitchen...

There are flowering chives (top) in my kitchen. Every season, the little pot in my courtyard surprises me with a bounty of this beautiful looking, great tasting herb.
Tiny Asian bowls Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
In my kitchen are two tiny china bowls - a gift from a friend years ago. Aren't they pretty?
Ginger syrup Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
In my kitchen is a bottle of organic Ginger Syrup from 'the ginger people'.
Ginger bits and Gin Gins Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
'the ginger people' also sent me crystallised Ginger Bits & Gin Gins chewy ginger candy (great for travel sickness).
Minced ginger Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
As well as this organic minced ginger. All ginger, all natural.

Also in my kitchen, there's...

B.O.N.K. Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
A gift from Australian Macadamias, a B.O.N.K. nutcracker and macadamia nuts.
Enamelled bowl Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
An enamelled bowl, bought in Budapest in the 1990s.
Belgian chocolate parasol Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
Belgian chocolate parasol. My mother bought these for me when I was little. I bought a boxful for my book launch.
Vintage sieve Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
A vintage sieve bought from a op shop.
Obama Mints Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
Obama Mints - a gift from my dear friend, CC, who has just returned from Hawaii.
Single O decaf coffee beans Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
Single O decaf coffee beans - the sweetest and best I've tasted. Available online.
Aldi luxury butter fudge Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
Luxury butter fudge from Aldi - my grown up son's favourite Christmas indulgence.
Smoked sea salt Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
Smoked spiced sea salt, bought from a market at a food and wine festival in the NSW southern highlands.
Avocado Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
Fresh avocados. Beaut as a snack or light lunch - mashed and spread onto Vita Weets.
Vita Weet biscuits Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
Sesame Vita Weet biscuits. Our absolute favourite thing at present.
Picture
Possibly the best tasting peppermint and spearmint tea I have ever tasted (apart from fresh mint leaves).
Baby chats Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
Tiny potatoes. Peter is allowed to eat these occasionally (on our diet).
Glass of moscato wine Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things
A glass of exquisite-tasting, ice-cold moscato by Innocent Bystander. My hands down favourite!

And lastly...

Carved rolling pin by In My Wood - photo Liz Posmyk, Food Writer Good Things

Your kitchen is, indeed, brimming with goodness this month! And lots of it gingery. Love the enamel pan and the vintage sieve, and all the ginger products, mostly the jar of chopped ginger.

So happy for your imminent publishing date! Congrats.

That rolling pin is a thing of great beauty!! Love the little china bowls, but groaned at the sight of the Aldi fudge - you had us all addicted to that a couple of years ago and we've vowed not to buy it anymore - we can't resist it! :D Happy November to you, darling one. xx

Can't believe it's November already! Although happy to see it -- that means our election campaign season is almost over. :-) Speaking of which, the Obama candy is wonderful!

Like you, I love Vita Wheats, the perfect carrier for smashed avocados. The little Obama tin is rather cute, if only America could keep this man a little longer, and his amazing wife too. And Innocent Bystander- yum. I love their Pinot Grigio.

That little chocolate parasol sent me back to when I was very small and that was the height of excitement. In the days when chocolate really was a treat. I really enjoy Gin Gins too - not so much for travel but just the unusual molasses/ginger combo. #sweettooth

The very bestest with your book launch!! I know it will be a huge success and I'll surely cherish my copy and gifts to others! Love everything in your kitchen bar the moscato: too weak and too sweet for me :) !! Have to laugh - have three of those seemingly 'old-fashioned' sieves in my own kitchen and they are well-loved :) !

Congratulations on your book! What a wonderful achievement. The rolling pin deal is great too, I have been drooling over carved wooden rolling pins from Europe for a long time now but exercising discipline and restraint while I try hard to declutter our house, and I don't bake the kinds of biscuits that suit such a rolling pin!

Great rolling pin and beautiful blue bowls. The Obama mints made me smile and wistfully think of a better America - particularly in these ridiculous, scary & sad times before the US election in a few days time. Certainly, "Yes, we can[dy]". What great looking ginger Liz! I remember those little parasols, never was a fan of chockie so didn't eat many. How exciting about your book, it must take a lot of energy to do. My link for this month is https://aroundthemulberrytree.wordpress.com/2016/11/01/in-my-kitchen-november/

The bowls are absolutely beautiful. All those ginger products sound amazing. I've been using ginger lately in pear preserves. The rolling pin is a stunner, I've enjoyed seeing you use it on Instagram...that and watching your book at the printer. Congrats! My post went live today.

I like the nostalgic things in your kitchen, the enamelled bowl, the sieve and the chocolate parasol. My Grandma used to buy chocolate umbrellas for me, I thought like many things they were now just a memory. Looking forward to seeing your book, you must be very proud.

I have flowers on my chives too Liz, aren't the colours just gorgeous!? Do you eat them in salads? I haven't tried that yet. I am in love with your cute little china bowls - I'm addicted to small bowls, they're handy for everything. How cool is your vintage sieve, it's adorable.

Liz, your avocado would be great with a sprinkle of smoked sea salt -- any excuse to eat avocados, ha! -- the potatoes, too. I love your enamel bowl with the handles and also that ingenious nutcracker. (Less chance of pinching fingers that way.) Really a delightful roundup of gadgets and goodies in your kitchen this month! Looking forward to perusing the rest "at my leisure." Best wishes on your book launch!
